Introduction to Single Pitch Trad B

Introduction to placing traditional gear in a single pitch crack climbing environment. Rollover students from 2020. Spots may open to new students after February 1.

This course is designed to prepare students to lead single pitch traditional routes at crags. To be eligible for this course, candidates must be proficient at leading sport routes (bolted routes). Prerequisites for this course are detailed in the course application (found under the "Apply" button).   • full set of nuts
  • helmet
  • harness
  • rock shoes
  • 2 personal anchors
  • 6 24 inch alpine slings with 2 wire gate biners per sling
  • 3 locking biners
  • auto blocking belay device, ei petzle reverso, BD ATC Guide, mega jel
  • nut tool
  • 20 feet cordalette, 6M nylon, 5M tech cord or spectra
Optional:
  • smaller Camelots optional; BDC3's, or any other brand  
  • chalk bag
