Two day seminar on friction slab climbing techniques. Designed for Intermediate or Crag students but suitable for Basic grads wanting to improve rock skills. Open to anyone, even non-members, who has at least some training and experience on low to mid 5th class rock.
First day will be top-roped and part of it in mountain boots. Second day will be all in rock shoes and will offer opportunities to lead on carefully bolted slabs.
This course has no scheduled activities.
Standard rock gear including helmet, harness, slings and ‘biners, belay device and gloves. Bring a few locking ‘biners, cordelette and double slings if you have them -- for anchors. Quick-draws if you have them - for leading on bolts Sunday, Otherwise, doubled runners will work just fine. No other pro needed. Bring both mountain boots and rock shoes. We'll be using both.
