Make up day for Field Trip #7 - Crevasse Rescue Evaluation for anyone that cannot make the first two dates Tue, May 20, 2025 or Thu, May 22, 2025. When requesting leaders permission please state why the prior two dates cant work for you.
Note for Instructors as of 03/18/2025 I’m going to limit the instructor list for the moment until more students sign up (probably closer to the evaluation date) reason being we won’t need 4-6 instructors/evaluators for 1 or 2 students doing the evaluation. I’ll add more slots as we get more students.
This is the sign-up for the Basic Field Trip #7 - Crevasse Rescue Evaluation. You will asked to demonstrate your response to a rope-mate who has fallen into a crevasse. Including:
1) Hold the fall and anchor the rope, including back-up to friction hitch or rope grab.
2) Safely approach the crevasse, and communicate with fallen climber.
