Basic Field Trip #6 - Snow Travel, Ice Ax and Crampon Skills. You will learn to:
- Travel on snow safely.
- Use your ice ax.
- Use your crampons.
- Descend by glissading,
- Hold a simulated crevasse fall, build and transition from holding the fallen climber, to building & connecting to a snow anchor (aka, escape the belay).
TBA - this year is going to be a challenge. Stay tuned and 7-10 days before we will announce the location. Could be one of Summit Central, upper Alpental, Skyline ridge or the Baker ski area. Be prepared for anything!
