During the clinic day, students will put the many techniques they've learned into practice while descending a canyon. Students will work in groups of 2-3, and each student will have an opportunity to independently rig rope systems, while others in the group observe, under the supervision of an instructor. Students will also have an opportunity to practice working as an efficient team. This important day provides a real-world application for the techniques learned in the course, and gives students insight into the variety of scenarios they will encounter in a canyon.
You'll discuss on day 5 the meeting place and time for day 6. However, plan for an 8-6 day.
Required Equipment
All equipment is provided for use during the course. However, if you have your own helmet, whistle, wetsuit, canyon shoes, or canyon-specific descender that you would like to use, let the instructor know in advance.
The clinic day will require all canyon gear, including wetsuits, shoes, helmets and whistles. Plan to bring your own lunch.
