Hiking & Backpacking Planning Session

Some thoughts for the discussion:

1.  Carla and I discussed the thought of having a hike leader gathering in December (I thought we had previously discussed this) and we thought perhaps an early Spring event to avoid the pressure of too many things happening at once (holidays). lets discuss type and schedule of event.
2.  Would like to discuss any plans we have for the Hiking and Backpacking group as a whole, leadership development and recognition if any separate from the branch efforts
3.  Finalization of the Branch Minimum Standards for Hiking and Backpacking to match the Clubwide standards
4.  Development and scheduling of:
  1. Hike Leader First Aid
  2. Hike leader training seminars (not to conflict with Andy's Outdoor Leadership Course)  - This course has already been developed - would just need to be reviewed and perhaps updated
  3. Intro to Day Hiking one-evening seminar development and scheduling
  4. Intro to Backpacking one-evening seminar development and scheduling
  5. Anything to be scheduled for Exploring Nature that you need help with?
  6. Anything for Family Hiking that you need help with?
  7. Any suggestions for hiking and / or backpacking?
As you can see, this could be a pretty full agenda and might take at least a good bit of wine and tapas!I  I will provide and would love to show off the new house (it probably won't be completely put together by then but, oh well!
