Meet at the Arcadia Boat Launch. Be ready to launch at 9 am.
Priority will be given to Olympia Branch Trip Leaders.
This clinic will provide an introduction and practice on use of tow belts and long and short tows to assist kayakers in trouble. It will also include various on-water assisted rescue scenarios, risk assessment & mitigation, and discussion of safety equipment, including use of VHF radio.
Required Equipment
Kayak, paddle, PFD, sprayskirt, pump, drysuit, kayaking essentials, water, food snacks. If you have a tow belt and/or VHF radio, bring them. If you don't have these, come anyway and we'll try to share.
