WFA Wilderness First Aid - a 2 day (usually weekend) standard Wilderness First Aid course
Wilderness First Aid is taught by Remote Medical Training (RMT) at the Kitsap Mountaineers’ Program Center in Bremerton on various weekends throughout the year. The course includes an independent WFA certification. Your course fee covers the cost of this instruction.
Equivalency notes: Some requirements may be waived or equivalency granted to individuals who have current backcountry medical certifications or extensive experience in providing medical care in remote or austere environments. Contact the course leader if you meet these requirements. You will have to provide proof of your certification and/or experience. Urban and front-country medical training alone is not sufficient to meet this requirement, even with advanced education and experience.
COVID-19
Starting Oct 25, 2021: to align with the King County vaccine mandate the Mountaineers is requiring participants of indoor programs to be fully vaccinated against COVD-19. Course participants will need to provide proof of vaccination prior to the start of the course.
- Vaccination status can be verified by following the Washington State Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Status guidelines. We ask that you provide vaccination proof at least 1 week prior to the in-person portion of the course.
- Medical/religious exemptions or testing in lieu of vaccination will not be accepted for vaccine-required programs.
