Optional rock climb field trip for Kitsap Leading on Rock to Leavenworth for practicing single and multi-pitch lead climbing skills. Location will be Icicle Creek Clam Shell and/or Playground Point crags.

Field trip to apply and practice climbing skills students have acquired during the course to confidently lead single and multi-pitch trad climbs. We will primarily focus on leading trad routes, but some sport routes will be available in the areas we are climbing at.

Helmet, harness and climbing shoes.

Belay device. Self-braking belay device like Black Diamond ATC Guide or Petzl Reverso

6 straight gate carabiners

2 locking carabiners

Large pear-shaped carabiner

Chock pick (nut tool)

Belay gloves

Ten essentials.  

Water and food.

Clothing for winter weather (e.g. fleece or puffy jacket, rain jacket and full-zip rain pants)

Bring the protection you have, if any. You will have the opportunity to use available equipment to determine which types you want to purchase for yourself.
