Qigong Session using WuJi Posture and Yi Ying Jing will be led by Gea D'Marea Bassett.  What is Qigong?  Qi is energy; and Gong is effort or work. This class will offer you the tools for understanding - from both a logical perspective and a somatic-embodied perspective - WuJi posture.  WuJi is the fundamental posture of alignment in an Qigong practice; it is the posture that we being practice in, end practice in, and maintain awareness of during practice.  Many Daoist meditations are also practiced while standing in WuJi. From WuJi we can begin training with the many modalities of Qigong.  WuJi means: infinite pole, central channel, nothingness (wu=nothingness).  When you "stand in WuJi" you are an infinite energetic pole and your body's central channel is open.  Through alignment in this posture you are allowing your energy to properly flow as you marry your energies to the energies of the heavens and earth.  We always train in WuJi.

After beginning to understand WuJi, we will move through 8 of the Yi Jin Jing movements as taught by Jerigtu. Jerigtu's website is https://earthshaman.org.    Yi means change; Jin means tendons and sinews; Jing (in this context) means methods.  Yi Jin Jing movements work your muscles and well as opening the energy meridians in your body, strengthen and stretch the body, balance the nervous system, strengthen bones, focus on the mind, align the spine and nourish fluids in the body.

Breath Meditation: We will begin the session with a Centering & Grounding Breath Meditation led by certified breath practitioner and Seichem Reiki Master Teacher, Kelley Chaddock.
