Yoga Hike - Grand Prospect

This is a club hike that includes yoga, for warmup and stretching before the hike, a longer session at the top of the hike, and stretching back at the trailhead after the hike. Initial priority for space on the hike will be given to people from the Yoga for Hikers, Backpackers and Trail Runners course (https://www.mountaineers.org/locations-lodges/foothills-branch/committees/foothills-hiking-backpacking/foothills-hiking-committee/course-templates/yoga-for-hikers-backpackers-and-trail-runners-foothills/yoga-for-hikers-backpackers-and-trail-runners-foothills-2022). Registration will open for all Mountaineers on July 27

Meet at the Rattlesnake Mountain Parking lot at 8:30 AM for a dynamic yoga warm-up.  The hike will start at 8:45 AM. 

This is a club hike that includes yoga, for warmup and stretching before the hike, a longer session at the top of the hike, and stretching back at the trailhead after the hike.  We'll hike at a leisurely pace and enjoy the scenery along the way.

The trip will be re-scheduled if it rains or if the ground is too wet or muddy to practice standing yoga poses safely.

Ten Essentials

Clothing suitable for the weather.   Clothing should not be too bulky and should facilitate easy movement for yoga poses.

A yoga mat may be too heavy and bulky to carry up the trail.  In lieu of a yoga mat, you may want to bring a pack towel for seated, supine, or prone poses.
