May Hikes: 3 to 5.5 miles, 300 to 1,250 feet gain - O.O. Denny Park

This hike counts toward your monthly required GoHike course May trips. Featuring a wonderful salmon stream, a very special “wind phone” to call your lost loved ones, and lots of stairs! This hike is part hike and part urban walk with potential views of Mt. Rainier.

This is a gorgeous hike through a lush riparian, wooded hillside park between Kenmore and NW Kirkland. There are so many beautiful species of plants to see and birds to hear; a wonderful stream, and towering trees.

For folks with creaky knees: one portion of this hike has a LOT of stairs we will climb and descend again later. We will go slow. We will wait for folks. If you’ve wanted to get a little stair challenge - take your time and build your climbing endurance. Most of the hike is mellow rolling hills, small bridges, and dirt. The stairs are a small portion but important to have the fitness to do. After the stairs is a mostly flat urban walk to another small park. (Sorry the images are sideways!!)
