The walk will start at 10 AM. We will be traversing 2 parks with well established trails and on pavement through city streets. We will learn about the history of the parks and view interesting outdoor sculpture as we walk along. Trails are a mix of packed dirt (possibly muddy if wet), boardwalk and pavement. There are 2 gentle hills for a combined total of 210 feet, and 2 sets of stairs with handrails of about 70 steps that we will come down on.
This will be a relaxed pace walk. Goals are to enjoy the outdoors, explore a new neighborhood and be social.
Water, snacks, sturdy shoes and appropriate outerwear, please. Hiking poles are optional – bring them if you feel more comfortable, or if it looks really wet. I will include forecast in the Hello Hiker mail.
We will meet at the North Lot of Luther Burbank Park. Parking is free.

Plan to arrive by 9:45 AM to gear up and use the restrooms, as we will begin our walk promptly at 10 AM. We will gather at the glass covered walkway that’s in the NE corner of the parking lot. There is a restroom close by (next to the children’s playground/pickleball courts.)
Required Equipment
Leader will send out a Hello Walker email prior to the walk that may include requirements or recommendations for equipment.
