GoHike Pace Urban Walks are low-stress urban walks designed to help you determine where you are in terms of gear, the pace (1.5 - 2 mph) and distance you can complete comfortably. These trips are designed to assist you in developing your goals for conditioning and hiking, so that you can determine what level of walks or hikes and pace would be the best fit for you to sign up for - no pressure, no judgment!

After a walk briefing, we will venture first to the Arboretum. Then we will turn to the west and start the mild hill climb. While most of the walk is urban, beside the arboretum we will pass through a forested area. there is a coffee/bakery shop on route, on our way. We will walk to the volunteer park grounds, passing the civil war cemetery. If there is interest we could climb the stairs to the water tower. The return will be through urban areas.
Weather conditions are yet not known. other than normal Seattle mid-Spring conditionsd, a forecast will be provided in the hello-walker note sent a few day prior to the walk.
Hike at 9am. Meet at 8:45AM at Madison Park parking area (shares with Kabuki gardens). We will gather near the north side of the toilets. Toilet facility is just south of the parking. Depending on your start location, expect normal morning congestion, add in extra travel time to google maps expected travel times.
