March GoHike Pacing Hike: 2 to 4 miles, 0 to 750 feet of elevation gain

March GoHike Pacing Hike: 2 to 4 miles, 0 to 750 feet of elevation gain - Twin Falls (Olallie State Park)

Pleasant hike to see a trio of falls (don't ask me why *Twin* falls has *three* falls) just east of North Bend. GoHike Pace Hikes are low-stress hikes to help you determine where you are in terms of gear, the pace (1.5 - 2 mph) and distance you can complete comfortably. These trips are designed to assist you in developing your goals for conditioning and hiking trips, so that you can determine what level of hikes and pace would be the best fit for you to sign up for - no pressure, no judgment!

As this is a pacing hike, we will vary our pace so that each of us can figure out what pace works for us.

As always this time of year, be extra prepared for rain and, being near waterfalls, the possibility of wetness even if there is no rain.  Rain gear (rain coat and/or ponchos, rain pants, waterproof shoes and/or gaiters) and bug protection are extra points of emphasis in terms of the ten essentials.

We will meet at the trailhead at 8am at the Twin Falls parking lot.  Discover pass required.

Google Maps

Directions (As per WTA page):

To reach the main trailhead, drive east on I-90 to exit 34 (about 31 miles from Seattle). Turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto 468th Avenue SE, and proceed a little more than half a mile to SE 159th Street. Turn left and continue another half mile where the road dead ends in the Twin Falls parking lot. There is a place to purchase a Discover Pass here, which you need to park at Twin Falls.

There are (possibly primitive) restrooms at the trailhead.   There is a TA travel center at exit 34 that I expect will have less primitive facilities.  Be sure to allow extra time if you use these.
