March GoHike Pacing Hike: 2 to 4 miles, 0 to 750 feet of elevation gain - Bridle Trails State Park

Bridle Trails is a popular urban forest between Bellevue and Kirkland - a respite from city life! As a GoHike Pace Hike, we’ll enjoy a low-stress walk along the Coyote Trail (~4 miles, ~ 200 feet of elevation gain, 1.5–2 mph pace) to help you determine what feels comfortable for you in terms of gear, pace, and distance—no stress, no judgment.

Let's have fun and enjoy our first GoHike time together in Bridle Trails!

Trail:  A nice urban trail that is mostly flat along the main Coyote trail, with some deviation to get us up to 200 feet of elevation gain!  Being a wide trail in most parts, we will have time to walk side by side (mindful of other walkers and horses) and focus on our pacing for the distance.

Pace:  We will enjoy a comfortable ~4-mile hike, pacing as a group (averaging 1.5 - 2.0 mph) - no walker will be left behind. We will catch our breath at the top of steep inclines and gather at trail junctions to make sure we are all together and no one gets lost.

Breaks: We will not take a long break, but will find a location 1/2 way for a 15-minute water/snack break and to check in on pace.

Trail etiquette: Horses always have the right of way on trails. Please stop and let them pass. Please avoid making any loud or sudden movements that might spook the horse and endanger you, the rider, and others.

We will hike rain or shine unless there are torrential downpours, high winds, or lightning.

A HELLO HIKER email will be sent at 6 pm 3/8/25, with more details. Life happens, so if you need to cancel, please do so by this time to allow others on the waitlist to join.
