June Hikes: 3.5 to 6 miles, 400 to 1,500 feet gain - Swauk Forest Discovery Trail

This hike may count toward your monthly required GoHike course June hike. - Swauk Forest Discovery Trail - This figure-8 loop hike is emersed in the East Cascades sub-alpine forest ecosystem. Also featuring a somewhat aged interpretive trail element, it explores the sometimes instantly differing flora of sunny slopes vrs shaded ones often experienced by simply rounding the nose of ridge aspects. We'll also summit a minor peak with sweeping views of the Cascades all the way out to the Stuart range.
