June Hikes: 3.5 to 6 miles, 400 to 1,500 feet gain - Cherry Creek Falls

A lovely gentle roller-coaster of a hike with an outstanding falls at the end! This hike counts toward your monthly required GoHike course hike for June.

Meet at the trailhead at 8:30 am, ready to hike. This is a change from the previously stated information with a little later start time!

This is gentle roller-coaster of a hike with a delightful falls at the end. We'll hike at a steady, slower pace with time for photos and rests.

Some of us might stop after the hike at a Mexican restaurant in Duval called Ixtapa.It is your choice and cost. Please let me know if you might join us and I'll let the restaurant know there might be a group.

Your leader will be sending out a Hello Hiker email in advance of the hike with details about the hike and gear.  Highlights:  

Hiking sticks are highly recommended, due to a small stream crossing (4-6 inches deep). A foam sitting pad is also recommended for sitting at the falls for lunch/snack. As the hikes get longer this summer, it's more likely we'll be stopping for a longer time for a full lunch rather than a snack, and it's good to fully rest by sitting down comfortably.
