
Field trip: GoHike: Beginner Hiking Course
June GoHike Urban Walk: 3.5 to 6 miles, 400 to 1,500 feet gain (optional) - Juanita Bay Park
Enjoy an urban mentored walk through some of Kirkland's neighborhoods and learn about its early history. We will also make a stop in Juanita Bay Park and catch a glimps of some of the native wildlife in the area that make Juanita Bay Park their home. Heritage Park will be our last stop on the return where we can learn about Kirkland's early history.

8:15 am - Meet outside Zoka Coffee Roaster on the corner of Lake and Central Way in downtown Kirkland. We will begin our walk at 8:30am. There is Public Parking along Market Street. More info will go out in the "hello hiker" email.
Kirkland has a rich history becoming the first city on the Eastside in 1888 (eventually incorporated in 1905). More details about the meeting location and urban walk itself will be in your "Hello Hiker" email approximately a week before. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Trip will be rescheduled if hazardous conditions should occur such as heavy rains and/or thunderstorms.
This Urban Walk will count toward the monthly requirement of one trip activity a month for the GoHike Course.
Required Equipment
First Aid, water, snacks, appropriate outerwear (layer up), and sturdy walking shoes. Optional: hiking poles.
