August Hikes: 4 miles to 7 miles, 600 to 2,000 feet gain - Talapus & Olallie Lakes

Hike this lovely forested trail to Talapus Lake, where we will stop for views before heading to Ollalie Lake where we can cool off with a dip of our toes!

Meet at the Talapus Lake Trailhead at 8 am sharp! Road to trailhead is accessible to all vehicles.  There is a toilet at the trailhead but do be prepared with your own toilet paper and sanitizer.

We will meet at 8, introduce ourselves, go over the plans for the hike and get on the trail by 8:20.

Goals: 

  • To reach Talapus and Ollalie lakes. Ollalie being our final destination where we will enjoy snacks and take a dip in the water if one chooses to! 
  • Foster community and belonging. 
  • Lead and learn in a collaborative spirit.
  • Foster compassion, understanding and curiosity with one another, and in nature.
  • Have fun, be safe and enjoy one another's company.

Expectations:

  • Commitment to arrive on time at the trailhead, prepared and ready to be social and enjoy the hike.
  • Commitment to communicate with me for any concerns and/or questions before and during the trip.
  • Commitment to having fun.
  • The group will stay together. This means seeing a head in front and in back of you at all times.

  • Through actions and words, I lead through an inclusive lens.
  • I foster community within the group.
  • I lead a slower to moderate pace, allowing for flexibility between the two.
