Our goal is to have an enjoyable time out on the trail and return safely to the trailhead. We'll hike as a group - the leader and the caboose/sweep should be able to see each other at all times. We'll stop a few times (less than 5 minutes each) to look at cool things/water breaks but no major snack break is on the agenda.
I encourage participants to pay attention to the route and help navigate, please be prepared with a printed map or the route downloaded on AllTrails/Gaia (it will be included in the Hello Hiker email).
While the Watershed Preserve has fairly well maintained trails, it could be muddy/slippery so hiking/trail type shoes/boots are recommend. Some of the trails are used by equestrians so we may encounter horses and/or horse manure.
We expect you to be ready to hike on-time, with the appropriate gear and a positive attitude so we can all enjoy our time on the trail. Please have your 10 essentials, including water, snacks and layers for whatever weather we may encounter.
There are restrooms with running water available at the trailhead. (If necessary, there are some areas where a party separation could be possible but not encouraged.)
Meet at the bench by the restroom building at the main trailhead off Novelty Hill Road (21760 NE Novelty Hill Rd, Redmond, WA 98053) ready to hike at 8:00am,
Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to get your gear ready. We'll do introductions and briefing and plan to be hiking by 8:15am.
There is no public transportation to the trailhead, please plan your travel plans in advance.
No parking pass is required.
