"Skills Carnival" Hands on activities at Cougar Mountain Regional Park Group Shelter 2 (at Harvey Manning Trailhead) on Sunday, June 5 from 9am - noon.

3-hour backpacking workshop for kids and parents with hands on activities  related to trail food and snacks including a chance to sample a range of kid-friendly backpack foods,  animal safety, water filtration and backcountry hygiene.  Backpacking gear demonstration with a kid-orientated focus. Opportunity for parents (and kids) to bring their packed backpack for advice and review by course leaders prior to upcoming summer trips.

Dress appropriately in layers for Pacific Northwest weather and be prepared to  be outside for several hours in a grassy and wooded setting.  Bring water bottles and snacks. Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen and bug repellent if indicated by weather forecast. Restrooms are available.
