Mentor Group Practice Camp - Magnuson Park

This practice camp for Sarah/Caroline/Christina's mentor group at Magnusson Park is a "dry run" for upcoming backpacks. We'll fit packs for a 1-mile walk, navigate to our destination, set up camp, filter/treat water and make a hot meal or drink, practice packing our packs, while also checking out the mentors' and each others gear. B3 students from other mentor groups are welcome to sign-up after noon on March 29 if space allows. See Leader Notes below.

Courtyard of the Mountaineers Program Center at Magnusson Park, 7700 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115.  Meet at  9:45am, Sunday, April 23.  We'll start at 10am so be prompt and prepared with boots on and packs ready to go.  Plan to stay until 4pm. 

Sarah's mentor group has priority signup from March 23 at noon to  March 29 at noon.  Then any B3 student is welcome to signup if space allows until registration closes on April 19.  A Hello Hiker email will be sent to all participants about one week before the activity date to help you prepare.  Email the primary leader with any questions.

Bring your backpacking Basic Kit; clothing, hydration, kitchen, small essentials, pack, rain protection, etc that you own, rented, or borrowed to date, and all of your questions!  Also bring a lunch including a meal or hot drink so you can practice with your stove.
