Mentor Group Practice Camp - Lake Sammamish State Park

This practice camp for Becca and Jason's mentor group at Lake Sammamish State Park. This will allow their group to practice packing their pack, setting up their shelter, gathering and filtering/treating water and making a meal, while also checking out their mentors' and fellow mentees' gear.

  • Casual
  • Mileage: 2.0 mi

B3 students who are member of Becca and Jason's Mentor group do not require leaders permission to register.  All other B3 students are welcome to register as space allows starting April 17th.

Meet at Lake Sammamish Boat Launch Parking Lot (Click Here for location) at 10:30AM.

This will be our first adventure with all your gear (or what you have).  We will meet up in the parking lot and treat this as if we were going on an actual backpack.  I know gear might be new for many of you.  This is a great opportunity for you to bring what you have, talk about gear options before making big purchases.  We can take some time in the parking lot to review packing, fitting packs, etc before we get started.

We will do a short hike around the State Park to help you get a feel for a weighted pack and make adjustments as needed along the way.  We'll find a cozy open field to set up our "camp".  Come hungry! Once we set up, we'll filter water at Lake Sammamish and make ourselves a tasty lunch to try out all your cooking gear.
