  • Mileage: 3.9 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 600 ft
  • Pace: 2 mph

We'll meet at the Sky Country trailhead at 11:00 here. There are porta potties at the trailhead

No permits are needed.

Students from other mentor groups are welcome if space allows.

We'll have the opportunity to test our traveling gear (Weighted pack, boots/trail runners) on a gravel and dirt trail 3.9  miles long. We will gather water at the West Tibbets Creek, at the Tibbets Marsh outlet. We will then proceed to the Harvey Manning trailhead and set up our tents on the big flats there.

We'll have lunch, show our gear, break up camp and walk back to the cars via Lost Beagle Trail. This will make it a loop.

This is a very good time to peek at other folks' setups. We will spend some time doing reviews Q&A's. Expect people to ask about your gear and show it off! :)

I expect the hike to take 2 hours total, setting up and breaking up camp, water, lunch and gear talk about 1:30 hours. So plan for being back to the cars at 14:30 - 15:00.
