Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - Waptus River

This is a moderate 2 night backpack. Great opportunity to test all that students have learned. Please see Leader's Notes for Leader's Permission Details

7:00am Salmon La Sac Trailhead

America the Beautiful or Northwest Forest Pass required.

Day 1: Hike 9 mile to Waptus Lake. There will be a river ford about 1/2 mile before the lake.  Night one will be spent at Waptus Lake.

Day 2: Option to explore Waptus Lake and the PCT for a few hours. We will pack up camp in the afternoon and we will ford the river again and hike back down to the River Camp, about 2.2 miles from Waptus Lake.  We will spend night two along the river.

Day 3: Pack up after breakfast and head to the trailhead.
