Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - Hannegan Pass

A North Cascades adventure. Camp near Hannegan Pass in the Mt. Baker area with side trips to Hannegan Peak and Copper Ridge's Egg Lake. Lots of alpine views. We'll be camping in the Mt. Baker Wilderness, and day tripping into the North Cascades National Park.

Day 1. Hannegan Trailhead to Hannegan Camp, 3.7 miles, +2165'.  Set up camp, then day hike in the afternoon (probably with micro-spikes due to some snow on the trail) from camp to Hannegan Peak, EL 6181, 3 miles RT, +1480', for views into the North Cascades Park and day two's journey.

Day 2.  Day hike from camp into the Park to Egg Lake on Copper Ridge.  Peaks in all directions!  Return to camp.  Round trip is an ambitious 9.2 miles, +-3500'.

Day 3.  Camp to  Hannegan TH, 3.7 miles, -2165'.

Meet at the Hannegan Trailhead off Mt. Baker Highway 542 at 10am with boots on and packs ready (rain or shine).
