Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - Chelan Lakeshore Trail

This field trip will give B3 students the opportunity to try out gear and new skills on an easy overnight backpack with an experienced mentor. Priority to Luis' & Karla's mentor group until April 1st

Meet May 18th at 9:00AM at the Field's Point Landing parking lot, out of Chelan (3-3.5 hrs drive from Seattle).

We will take the Lady of the Lake ferry (The Lady Express). It leaves at 9:20, and we will be dropped off at Prince Creek ~10:00

Any car staying overnight will need to pay for a night permit. "At Field’s Point Landing there is a charge for day and overnight parking. Please call for current rates 509-687-3093"

Day 1: Meet 9:20 AM at Field's Point Landing, take the ferry and arrive at Prince Creek at 10. We will then hike 11 miles to the Moore Point campsite.

Day 2: We'll hike 7.5 mi to the Lakeview/Purple Point campground in the town of Stehekin. We can hang out at camp, walk, bike and/or visit de Stehekin Bakery.

Day 3: We may do a hike to Purple Pass, or go again to the Bakery! We'll then board the ferry at 12:30PM

Each participant is responsible for the $91 ferry fee, and parking permit if driving. The boat ticket must be purchased at least two weeks in advance, and can be done at https://ladyofthelake.com/overnight-one-way-tickets

This trip will happen rain or shine! Please only sign up if you won't cancel due to rain. The exceptions are high winds that make it dangerous to camp near trees, precipitation amounting to 1 inch in a day.
