This is a repeat training due to the high demand, success and feedback of the first session in Oct-2023. However, there was also high churn on the roster which prevented many interested leaders on the waitlist from being able to attend. As such, marking as Leader Permission required. When completing the Leader Permission form, please answer the following questions:
1. Are you committed to attending a 2 1/2 hour evening training on a weekday in Kirkland, WA...given that it will be wintertime and during rush-hour traffic? If this sounds great now, but won't sound good come mid-Feb, please do not request to join this seminar.
2. Will you complete the 25 min Interactive Course *BEFORE* attending the live session, and bring your e-mail with quiz results to the live session?
Those who register without Leader Permission will be permanently cancelled off the roster.
The American College of Surgeons STOP THE BLEED® program has prepared over 2.6 million people worldwide on how to stop bleeding in a severely injured person.
In this STOP THE BLEED® course, you’ll learn three quick techniques to help save a life before someone bleeds out: (1) How to use your hands to apply pressure to a wound; (2) How to pack a wound to control bleeding; (3) How to correctly apply a tourniquet. These three techniques will empower you to assist in an emergency and potentially save a life.
This course has two parts:
- 25-minute interactive course intended to be completed first. https://www.stopthebleed.org/training/online-course/
You will receive an e-mail with your quiz results to bring to the Skills-Only Course.
- 2 1/2 hour live Skills-Only seminar: A formal presentation followed by hands-on practice of applying direct pressure, packing a wound, and using a tourniquet to stop bleeding. Small group instructors will be available to check your movements as you practice three different bleeding control actions.
