Intro to Frontcountry Trail Running - Carkeek Park

Learn and practice trail running skills at a local frontcountry trail.

Meet at 7:00pm at Carkeek Park, 950 NW Carkeek Park Rd., Seattle, WA 98177.

From the main entrance proceed straight then bear right and go uphill (it's a one-way loop so you'll have to do this anyway.) When you come out of the trees by a playground/picnic area, park there- don't drive downhill again.

This session focuses the topic of safety and potential hazards on the trail (wildlife, water, people, first aid, insects...)

Please wear layers of breathable, technical clothing suitable for outdoor aerobic activities.

  • Waterproof jacket, hat, buff, gloves, sunglasses, gaiters are recommended.
  • Trail running shoes
  • optional: a small day pack 
  • optional: bring snacks and water (can be left in your car)
