PLEASE KEEP SUNDAY, APRIL 27, 2025 OPEN AS AN ALTERNATE FOR THIS ACTIVITY. IF IT IS TOO WINDY ON APRIL 26 WE WILL NEED TO SWITCH DATES.
Practice paddling and rescue techniques in open water.
More details will be supplied in early April.
Students will need to supply their own equipment for this event. This includes boat, paddle, PFD, Drysuit, etc. You will be able to rent this equipment on site from Body Boat Blade if you don't have your own. Rental info will be communicated prior to the first session, the price for renting both a kayak and drysuit will be between $125-$150/day.
Bowman Bay Boat Launch at Deception Pass State Park: 4402 Bowman Bay Rd, Anacortes, WA 98221. Instructors arrive at 8am. Students bringing boats arrive at 8:15am, all other students 8:45am

Required Equipment
Boat, paddle, drysuit, pfd, paddle float, and bilge pump.
If you are renting a drysuit booties and a hood will be provided. If you have your own drysuit but don't have neoprene booties and scull cap/balaclava you may want to purchase those prior to open water. A nose plug may also be helpful. More info will be supplied in April.
