This 2.5 hour evening virtual course provides experienced cross-country skiers with information to become an effective cross-country ski trip leader. It is a pre-requisite along with a mentored ski, wilderness first aid badge and committee approval to becoming an official cross-county ski trip leader for the Mountaineers. People interested in becoming a new leader and past and current cross-country ski leaders are invited to participate. The seminar is free and open to all Mountaineers members but please register so we can schedule the right number of instructors. 

Seminar Objectives:

  • Understand and be prepared to carry out the roles and expectations of a cross-country ski leader for the Mountaineers.
  • Know the kinds of trips you want to lead and how to attract participants who have the appropriate interest,  skills and capabilities.
  • Be prepared and confident to handle common challenges you may encounter leading groups.
  • Know how to post a trip, communicate with participants and plan your trip details. 

6:30-9:00 pm. Zoom meeting. Meeting info and Zoom link will be sent via email in the week prior to the seminar.
