Note the location of this activity is on the Meadow Mountain Trail that leads to Three Fingers Lookout.
This is considered a strenuous trip. We will be working in the Boulder River Wilderness.
The route requires up to 5 miles of travel to get to the work site. Bikes are required to travel 2.5 of the 5 miles on gravel road. The 2.5 remaining miles will be on foot. I will be carrying the tools up on a bike trailer. These distances are one way, add 5 miles to return to our vehicles.
Project logs will be selected based on the crew size and abilities. Expect this trip to be an introduction to crosscut saw logout. Safety will be priority one. As we will be in the backcountry, take normal precautions and bring the ten essentials such as have a water filter, extra food, and a tested and working light.
The lookout is an additional 8 miles and 4500ft one way from the job site and we are not planning on a visit for this trip.
An email will be sent the evening before with weather conditions, driving instructions, meetup details, and any other last-minute information that would be helpful to know.
Please review the requirements list in advance.

We will meet at 7:00 am in the Granite Falls McDonalds parking area while we still have cell service and determine carpooling and have a tailgate safety review of activity. Additional Carpool parking options include the Verlot Ranger station and along the Mountain Loop highway at the Old Robe trailhead. We can communicate other carpool options before the trip if you need.
The road to the major washout at mile just over 5 miles is in great shape and can be driven by a passenger car. At mile 5, the road is closed and may or may not be barricaded. It is not advised to drive beyond this point.
