Meet at 9:30 am at North Bend Park N Ride, 331 W North Bend Way, North Bend, WA 98045 . Note: You can also meet at the Bessemer Road gate on Middle Fork Road no later than 10 am, but please let us know so we don’t wait for you at the Park and Ride.

Please join us for a Weed Watcher Group Hike on Friday, July 7 to hunt for invasive weeds on the CCC road-trail in the Middle Fork Valley. This is a King County Weed Watcher group hike so that means lots of time looking at plants and learning about them, as well as recording and pulling whatever weeds we can! No experience is necessary – just a desire to hike with a purpose.

Experienced Weed Watcher Ann Stevens and Noxious Weed Program educator Sasha Shaw will be there to help teach plant ID for anyone who would like that so please feel free to bring family and friends who might be new to this.

What to expect: We will be moving slowly most of the time and taking frequent break to identify plants, record weed locations, and pull weeds when it is reasonable to do so. We won’t cover as much ground as on a usual hike, but we will see lots of great plants and help protect the environment at the same time!

We will be starting our weed watcher hike at the Bessemer Rd gate on Middle Fork Road, but we will be carpooling from the North Bend Park and Ride at 331 W. North Bend Way, so we don’t have to find parking for as many cars.
