Wintertime backcountry enthusiasts can avoid avalanches by staying away from the terrain where they are most likely to occur. Sounds simple. But in reality there are a multitude of choices involved in evaluating safe terrain. Bruce will share his forty years of experience studying snow safety and tell you how to choose terrain that will help you avoid an avalanche or survive one if the worst should happen – as it has to him. Control your exposure and lower your risk, is a mantra that has kept Bruce safe and one that he has taught in seminars for many years.

The presentation will run about 30 minutes, followed by a 30 minute question and answer period. Register today, even if you can’t attend on January 23, and we’ll send you a recording of the event a day or two afterward. Plus, when you register you’ll automatically be entered to win one of three free copies of Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain, 3rd Edition!
