With humor, honesty, and heart, Derick brings us along for the highs, lows, missteps, and moments of pure joy that shaped his six months on one of the most challenging long trails in the world.

This 60 minute presentation is a story-driven talk focused on what happens out there when plans unravel, doubts creep in, and perseverance becomes a daily choice—experiences that inspired his upcoming book A Fabulous Thru-Hike: 3,100 Miles on the Continental Divide Trail. After about 45 minutes of trail tales, Derick will stick around for a live Q&A, giving attendees the chance to ask questions and dig deeper into the realities of long-distance hiking.
