K2 is the second-highest and largely considered to be the world’s most dangerous mountain. Join us to hear behind-the-scenes secrets, unforgettable adventures, and epic tales of near-misses with Jim Wickwire, a summiter on the historic 1978 team, and Steve Swenson, esteemed alpinist, author, and K2 veteran.
The free Beta & Brews event will kick off with a 5pm happy hour on REI's outdoor terrace. Enjoy free bites and beer discounts, then move upstairs at 6:30pm for the special K2 presentation from Jim and Steve.
Immediately following the event, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase Steve's book, Karakoram: Climbing Through the Kashmir Conflict,and have it autographed. You will have time to personally connect with Jim Wickwire - the only person to solo-bivy near the top of the Karakoram.
