The Mountaineers Adventure with Purpose Gala is an opportunity to celebrate our mission and the organization’s meaningful impacts across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. And no celebration is complete without our Mountaineers Adventure Club (MAC) students!
Our MAC students aren't just some of the strongest Mountaineers in our community, they have also played a vital role in shaping the Gala and supporting our fundraising through fun program activities, like the Tyrolean Traverse. New this year, we're excited to introduce our Mountaineers Adventure Club Relay Adventure Challenge - the MAC RAC!
MAC RAC details
The MAC RAC is a high-intensity relay race that puts our student’s mountain skills to the ultimate test. Two groups of MAC competitors will battle it out to crown the fastest rope coiler, the most efficient boulder pad stacker, and the quickest to prusik to the top of a fixed rope. It’s fast, fierce, and will definitely have you on the edge of your seat!
Like the Tyrolean Traverse, Gala guests will have the opportunity to play along and bid on the winning team via donation tickets. We are excited to announce that our partner Black Diamond will sponsor the MAC RAC with all of the climbing gear.
“We're really excited about the MAC RAC this year at the Gala!” says Alvaro Juarez, Seattle Youth Clubs Program Manager. "I'm most excited about how we'll be able to invite MAC students from the Seattle and Tacoma Branches.” With students coming together from across the region, the competition is sure to be fiercer than ever.
