The Foothills Branch Council is pleased to welcome Leah Rush as the new Branch Board of Directors Representative! We would like to thank the outgoing Branch Board Representative, Liz McNett Crowl, for all her service to the branch.

The Branch Board of Directors Representative serves as a Mountaineers Board Member who brings the Foothills Branch’s interests to the larger Mountaineers Board, and conveys major organizational initiatives back to the branch.

Meet Leah

Leah is a lifelong outdoor enthusiast. Growing up on the Texas plains, she found special joy adventuring throughout the Lincoln National Forest on visits to her family’s cabin, nestled in the pines of the Sierra Blanca mountain range.

Leah moved to Washington in 2014, drawn by the state’s remarkable landscapes and recreational opportunities, and joined The Mountaineers in 2017. She is continually inspired by the organization’s community and the natural places it helps steward. Leah’s professional background spans crisis response and risk management roles across the public and private sectors including managing large-scale humanitarian relief programs, deploying technology solutions to disaster-affected communities, and serving as a grant-maker and emergency manager.

Leah is looking forward to combining her professional competencies in crisis and risk management, program management, and organizational leadership with her desire to support The Mountaineers in a meaningful way. She hopes to help the organization continue to have both local and global influence, now and into the future.
