Sea Kayak - Chuckanut Bay

fun paddle, not crowded at Larrabee boat launch...day started out cool but warmed up quickly when the sun penetrated the clouds and haze. Water conditiona were as advertised. Pleasant day with fun people.

  • calm water at the start, then after light winds later there was a little water movement...

Chuckanut Bay area is beautiful as ever.  Gorgeous sandstone walls, intertidal  fauna during the zero tide when we started.  Higher tide by the time we got to that little cove at the north end but still a couple of concretions (formerly known as fossilized palm trees) visible.  Day turned out to be bright and hazy.  Temps were in the low 60's when we started at 0900.  It was 76 degrees by the time we landed at Larrabee boat launch around 3 pm.
