Trip Report

Freshwater Bay

  • Mon, Mar 28, 2016
  • Freshwater Bay
  • Sea Kayaking

We started at low tide and saw lots of starfish and anenomes as we meandered around the coastline. As the morning progressed, more wildlife was spotted. Saw seals, sea lions, eagles, oystercatchers, cormorants, harlequin ducks, and much more.
Crescent Beach was a great spot to have lunch and because of some ocean swell, got some practice dealing with surf when disembarking and launching. Got a chance to go rock gardening on the way back because of a higher tide and some people explored a few caves. The weather held perfectly; we had a beautiful view of Mt Baker all day. The rain started as soon as we were packed up and on the road.
We had a wonderful day!
