The Coal Creek Falls loop is a popular, short, easy day hike. There are also many options for longer out-and-back and loop trips to explore further into the park from this trailhead. Dogs on a leash are welcome.

Hike from the edge of The Highlands in Newcastle one mile to Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park. From there continue on to De Leo Wall or onto Marshall Hill Trail and return on the other to make a loop.
