Sea Kayak - Skagit & Hope Islands

Paddle from Cornet Bay to Hope Island for lunch, then return via Skagit and Kiket Isands. Students welcome and we will have time for rescue practice for anyone interested.

Cornet Bay boat launch.  Meet at 9am for 10am launch.  Discover pass required for parking.

We’ll ride the current to Hope Island for lunch.  After circumnavigation of Hope we’ll visit Skagit and Kiket Island on the way back.  At Kiket Island there will be optional exploration of the Kukutali Preserve via the Kiket Trail.  There will be an opportunity to practice rescues.  Dry suit required.

These eight essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips.  All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.

  1. Floatation in both ends of the kayak
  2. U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
  3. Paddle
  4. Spray skirt
  5. Bilge pump with floatation
  6. Self-rescue paddle float
  7. Waterproof whistle
  8. Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
