Oyster Plant Park just south of Poulsbo. The address for your GPS or mapping program is 17791 Fjord Dr NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370 (which is for the marina next door). Oyster Plant Park is directly adjacent on the north side. Park car on the shoulder. Toilets a few blocks away in Lions Park. Meeting time will be around 10 but TBD based on weather conditions, and confirmed by email.
I expect this sea kayak trip to have this difficulty and these conditions. View the sea kayak difficulties definitions on the Activity Types page.
- Difficulty: moderate
- Wind: <9kts
- Waves: 1 ft or less
- Route: Paddle to Poulsbo waterfront area, cross to other side. Go to Keyport. Return.
- Distance: 6 nm
- Pace: Leisurely
This will hopefully be sheltered from winds in our region (at least so far they appear to be). Plan to get warm and purchase your lunch and hot beverage at the Keyport Mercantile, which provides indoor seating for kayakers in drysuits.
Bonus for those who just completed roll class: I'll stay behind for 1/2 hour to allow you to practice your roll and provide coaching / Hand of God.
