Sea Kayak - Lake Washington

A late afternoon no-frills conditioning paddle, of about 6 nm, from the launch at Concrete Beach.

  • Sea Kayak IV
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.0 nm
  • Maximum Wind: 20 kts
  • Maximum Waves: 3 ft
  • Pace: > 3

The geography of this trip merits an SK rating of II.  This trip is posted as SK IV because we will go out in wind of 15 kn and that pushes us into the SK IV category (wind over 10 kn is forecast).

We will either head north to St Edward State Park Beach, where we'll stop briefly to use the facilities, or head east to Juanita and Waverly Beach Parks before returning to Concrete Beach.   If there is a strong southerly wind, we may elect to head south first, so we can return with the wind at our backs.

After the activity we'll have the opportunity to stop for a refreshment at the Magnuson Cafe & Brewery

Meet on the astroturf opposite Sail Sandpoint, in the north parking area.  Arrive so you are ready to launch by 3 pm.
