Day Hike - Twin Lakes (Mt Baker)

Leader's notes Our destination will be Twin Lakes or one of the moderate trails from Twin Lakes campground. With two or more high clearance vehicles we can drive to the campground and hike either Winchester Lookout or High Pass. Both of these are easy/moderate. If we only have regular cars we will hike from the Yellow Aster Butte trailhead up the scenic Twin Lakes road to the campground at the lakes. This is a superb alpine area with two side by side lakes set with mountains close beside. The slopes are covered with huckleberry bushes and the views extend all around with north cascades peaks such as Shuksan & Baker in sight. Also canadian peaks since it is only about 5 miles to the border. Easy pace. Come stay at the Mt. Baker lodge and try this out !
