Day Hike - Skookum Flats
An easy day hike along the west bank of the While River under tree cover. 6.2 miles round trip but relatively flat with some ups and downs. Less than 500 feet of elevation gain. Skookum Falls is along the way, but hardly any water this time of year. The Palisades rock formation across the river is visible several times along the route. We go out about 3.1 miles and return by the same route.

Meet at the Enumclaw ranger station at 9:30 am to conglomerate into car pools. Each car parked at the trailhead must have a National Forest / Park Service Pass. The trailhead is off Hwy 410, onto Road 73 for about 0.4 miles and just past the bridge. There is a small parking area and a toilet there. After the hike we could make an optional stop at Wapiti Woolies in Greenwater for milkshakes, coffee, snacks.
