Day Hike - Necklace Valley

Easy, fairly flat forest hike along first 5 miles of the East Fork Foss River.

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 11.75 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 994 ft
  • Pace: relaxed

This is a long hike, so be sure you can physically handle the mileage. Fairly easy trail, moderate rating due to mileage. Hike begins gently along the East Fork Foss River.  Traverse a naturally-regenerated second growth forest with rolling ups and downs for the first five miles and gain only 600 feet. This pleasant trail abruptly ends at the crossing of the East Fork Foss River at mile 5. This will be our lunch stop and turn around point.
Plan on a post hike stop for food and refreshment before returning home.
We will hike at a relaxed  pace, so if you're a fast hiker you'll be happier on another hike.

Monroe Park and Ride 7:30 AM. Northwest Forest Pass required at the trailhead.
