Trip
Day Hike - Mount Washington (Snoqualmie)
A close-in hike with 3+k' gain that gets less human traffic than Si, Mailbox, etc. Likely on Wed. we'll have lingering wildflowers, panoramic views, and some bugs. The trail is rocky in places.

There's few junctions along the trail, but we'll stop and regroup at each of those, and any stream crossings.
Gear: Besides 10 essentials, plenty of water/electrolytes, plus snack/lunch and clothes to hang out at the summit ~20-30 minutes before we descend. Poles strongly recommended where descent is steep.
Before signing up, please note the pace and altitude gain, and view recent trip reports here and here.
Note that some reports say the trail is bushy and needs maintenance, others say it's fine. Be ready for bugs (some recent reports mention them, some don't).
Note: If your Mountaineers profile doesn't show recent activity similar to this hike, please email me when you sign up info about what you've done in the last two months similar to this hike for altitude gain (>2500'), etc. Include specifics of the date, place, altitude gain, distance, and if you know it, time hiking or pace. Thanks.
Due to late posting of this strenuous hike, Mountaineer members only please. No guests unless a guest of a participant.
Let me know if you care to sign up as asst. leader.

I will be driving from Seattle and can pick up carpoolers from one (1) place along I-90, such as Tibbets Valley P n R or Preston P n R. Contact me if you're interested in carpooling.
From Seattle drive east on I-90 to exit 38. Head south (right), immediately crossing the South Fork Snoqualmie River, and take the first right turn into Ollalie State Park, a few hundred feet from the highway. Follow the gravel road to the end, parking near the bathrooms at the west end of the lot.
Please arrive a little before 8 so we can do quick introductions and be hiking at 8. (I'd like to start early and keep a good pace so all of us, but especially Tacoma / S end people, might be ahead of the worst of the afternoon traffic.
