8:15am Ash Way P&R at I-5 exit 183 or 9:45 am at the Lookout Mountain Forest Preserve trailhead. Dark Red Honda CRV in the SE corner of Ash Way P&R.
Well maintained toilet at trailhead.
I'm planning on a mostly loop hike on the Rufus Creek, Waterfall, and Baneberry trails, likely stopping for lunch at the top where it intersects with the Cougar Ridge trail. Most of the Rufus Creek trail was built in 2018 with a lot of WTA effort as well as other groups. It's unlikely to be too muddy. The climbing will be in the first half after about a 3/4 mile "warmup".
Afterwards, we can stop at the Alger Inn for beverages or another snack.
I'll send a map link and GAIA plot in the Hello Hiker notice.
